Walking Dead has always been my favorite show since I started binge-watching it in August 2015. Yes. I watched all the seasons, and yes I got my tías (aunts) to watch all the seasons as well. We had so many binge-watching parties-it was great. So I think it's safe to say, were Walker Stalkers.
So as it came towards the end of what I believe was a decent season, especially (spoiler alert) when we got to see Negan come out in all his gloriousness, my tías believed I was solely wrong. My tía thought that there weren't enough walkers. Snarl. Snarl.
But was the show becoming more human than zombified?
Now we're seeing the characters compete with other communities in order to survive. Isn't that how we live today. Maybe the show is too realistic. As people we like to escape from reality of having to fight everyday (figuratively and literately), and we escape through TV and books. And now see that reality, that we hate so much, on our TV screens and in our books.
We want something that's real, but not real. We want a real phony. (I stole that line from my favorite movie.)
Walking Dead was a beautiful concept of something that might not even happen, and to present this something to people, they have to make it realistic or else the audience will get turn it down.
I mean the blood, and the guts is what makes the show realistic. If I wanted to see horrible effects, and some weird kinda bad acting I would watch a Vincent Price movie. Disclaimer: In no way am I saying that Vincent Price is a bad actor; I love his movies.
I want to feel as an audience member that I'm living in that world with them. So now it's not about the walkers. Clearly if they are following the comics-which I'm almost caught up with. It's going to about people. But wasn't it the whole time?
Maybe the show is getting to real for my tías because they are dealing with a lot hardships. I think the show is doing it's job depicting society how it is-always in battle with each other. I like the fact that books, and TV shows tell or rather show how society is truly. Some people just can't handle the gore. Or the snarls.
The show for me will always be my favorite. Unless they kill Daryl, then they'll have a riot.
