Book Review: Girl Online by Zoe Sugg

I recenly just finished Girl Online rewritten by Zoe Sugg aka Zoella. I'm a huge fan of Zoe. I've watched her since 2011 on YouTube, of course she's been there longer than that. She was one of the first Youtubers I've ever started watching.

A little about Zoe in case you don't know. She not only is a Youtuber but she's a blogger just like myself. I believe that's how she got started. (Don't quote me on that) She is all about makeup and hair and everything fashionable.

So when she decided to write a book I was a bit skeptical. Well my first thought was that she was going to write a beauty how to which would have been so awesome. But when she announced the book name I realized it wasn't a beauty, it was a work of fiction. (Cue in the skepticism)

Don't get me wrong I love it! I truly do. I guess I was skeptic due to the fact that other Youtubers were making books that in turn were based off what they do on YouTube and what kind of videos they made. So I was surprised and well very proud that someone wanted to take a different direction in making a book.

As a person that aspires to be a writer I had been reading books since heaven knows. I've read books from Scott Fitzgerald to John Green. And for a while I was reading a lot of classics so when I got to Zoe's book I was pretty relieved that it was an easy read.

I did have to tell myself that I'm not reading the book to look at the way she wrote it. I'm reading it to get lost in a whole new world which is what I did.

I loved everything about the characters and the setting. I did see predict some of stuff that would happen in the book but honestly who doesn't.

Zoe's a pretty good writer. The way she wrote in detail and I loved the voice of two main characters Penny and Noah. Some of the British dialect (jargon or wording) caught me off guard and I really struggled but after three of four chapters I got used to it.

In all I loved it! It's the perfect Christmas present to a young girl who loves book like myself and the setting was during Christmas in New York!

I give it an: A

If you haven't read it go pick it up at your local bookstore!
